Give Myself the Time to Find My Answers

Posted to Facebook Jan 30
The other day I was trying to get a database to do something.  My first couple of attempts didn't work and so I turned to the expert for assistance.  After I explained to him my situation and he gave me a suggestion I had already tried, I came up with an idea, on my own, to try.  Sure enough it worked.

After I got off the phone I realized I might have rushed myself in asking for help, just so I could get it done.  If I had focused a bit longer and allowed myself the time to listen, I probably would have found the answer as well.  Was there anything wrong with asking for assistance?  No.  Did conversing with him probably play a part in me finding my answer?  Most likely.  However, focus is delicious, and allowing the inspirations is delicious and giving myself the time to do both is always time well spent.

LOP is giving myself the time to find/allow my answers.

A World Without Money

I am going to stretch our imaginations and go to a world, maybe even a world that we are moving towards, and talk about an existence without money.  Not because money is bad, but what it might be like to evolve beyond its necessity -- like how money took us to a place beyond needing to trade chickens and flour with each other.  Here are some some aspects of that world:

-- We wouldn't have to coerce anyone to do anything because the only reason anyone would have for doing something is because they loved it.
-- One person's work would not be considered more valuable than another because there would be no differentiation by pay.
-- We no longer would force ourselves to be who we are not because of financial advantage or prestige.
-- People would study topics because they loved them, they would not be able to resist the thirst to understand more.
-- Because material items would always be available from those who loved providing material items, there would be no feeling of shortage, or lack, or reason to hoard.
-- If there was a gap in services or material goods that gap would provide an opportunity, for someone who was inspired, to find the answer to close it.
-- There would be an immense allowing and trust in each other, that we are contributing our part to the perfect balance of the whole, as we honor who we really are, and what we love.

And could we only live an experience like that if there were no money?  No.  But maybe imagining it just made it easier for us to see the possibilities of what we can create when we LOP together.

A Happy Life Is Now

"There are so many people that are worried that they won't be happy later, that they won't let themselves be happy now."  Abraham-Hicks

It seems obvious, but how many times a day can I forget it?  If my goal for life, at its very basis, is to be happy, I create that by stringing together a bunch of happy moments.  I start by being happy right now, and then I add another happy moment on to that, and on it goes.  If I am struggling, working hard, suffering, tolerating things so that I can be happy I have become swept up in an illogical belief.  All that a life of struggle and suffering can create is, a life of struggle and suffering.

It is so simple, and so contrary to how most of us have been conditioned, at first read it can seem ridiculous.  But, if we listen carefully we can hear the logic.  A life full of happy moments creates a happy life.  A life full of moments of struggle creates a life of struggle.

I catch myself believing in this illogical belief: when I push myself to do one more chore, even though my body and mind are saying relax; when I purchase the less expensive item, even though the more expensive one is really the one I want; when my joy is measured by the number of my accomplishments in a day rather than my enjoyment of them; when I rush home to relax; when I am living for the weekend, holidays or retirement; when I do exercise, or eat food, that is suppose to be good for me, but that I don't really enjoy; when I do my work the way I have been told instead of the way I am inspired; when I be the way I am suppose to be instead of who I really am.

Let yourself LOP, let yourself be happy now.

There is Nothing Wrong Going On

I recently had so much good come out of something that would have usually been deemed bad.  Not long ago we had a cold snap in the weather and my car decided to stop working.  I have been without a regular automotive repair shop since the person I use to go to retired.  I knew there was something not right with the car, but had not been inspired to search out a new mechanic.

A couple of months ago a girlfriend happened to mention that she had taken her car in for service to a place I knew of because I grew up just blocks from it.  When my car decided it had had enough and I needed the name of a repair shop immediately to tow it to, the shop my girlfriend had used was the only one that came to mind.

The service I received was friendly, genuine, informative, helpful, and timely.  It ended up costing less than what I was originally quoted, and when I picked the car up I was sure it had been cleaned on the outside and there was a lingering smell of cleaner on the inside.

I drove away feeling so good about the experience, I could hear myself saying, "I am glad that happened!"  Meaning, I am glad my car completely stopped working so that I had to make a decision.  I love this experience I had with them.  I am very excited to once again have a mechanic I feel good about.  How great it feels to deal with businesses and people that I feel good and confident turning to for assistance.  I am glad that all happened.  There was nothing wrong going on, everything was going right.

So, because I have enjoyed my experience with this family operated business so much, I am more than happy to share it with you too.  They are:  Sandy Lane Automotive Services, 8105 Argyll Road, Edmonton, 780-469-0075
